Christmastime is indeed the most wonderful time of the year. Whether it’s chestnuts roasting on an open fire, sleigh rides, presents under a tree, or visions of sugar plums dancing in our heads, we enjoy getting swept into all the jingle jangle of the season.

Even with all that merry-making, we must keep Jesus central to the Christmas season. An easy and fun way to do that is by reading daily Bible verses about Christmas. Read these verses daily as a countdown to Christmas Day and prepare our hearts for the glory of the season.

Day 1:  Isaiah 40:1-3
1: Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
2: Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned:
3: The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

Day 2:  Isaiah 40:4-5
4: Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:

Day 11:  Isaiah 9:6

Day 12:  Luke 2:8
8: And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

Day 13:  Luke 2:9
9: And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

Day 14:  Luke 2:10-11
