Countdown to Christmas

Christmastime is indeed the most wonderful time of the year. Whether itā€™s chestnuts roasting on an open fire, sleigh rides, presents under a tree, or visions of sugar plums dancing in our heads, we enjoy getting swept into all the jingle jangle of the season.

Even with all that merry-making, we must keep Jesus central to the Christmas season. An easy and fun way to do that is by reading daily Bible verses about Christmas. Here are 25 scriptures from the Old Testament and the New Testament heralding the miraculous birth of Christ. Read these verses daily as a countdown to Christmas Day and prepare our hearts for the glory of the season.

Day 1:Ā  Isaiah 40:1-3

Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.

3: The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
