God-Breathed: How the Bible Was Written

“God-breathed” is the literal translation of “Theopneustia,” the Greek word found in 2 Timothy 3:16, meaning inspired, signifying that the Holy Spirit superintended the writing process. This inspiration wasn’t a form of dictation where God spoke every word. The human authors retained their unique styles and cultural perspectives (1 Corinthians 7:40), yet the Holy Spirit guided their thoughts and ensured the message remained true to God’s will.
