International Board of Jewish Missions

Spanish Speaking Ministry

Who We Are

Missions in Mexico and Central America are expanding their reach to spread the gospel. We are proud to support Spanish Ministries of International Board of Jewish Missions (IBJM). This page features excerpts from the IBJM website. To find out more, please visit the IBJM website.

IBJM was founded in 1949 by Dr. Jacob Gartenhaus.

Brought up in an Orthodox Jewish home in Austria, he moved to New York City in his early twenties where he trusted Jesus as Messiah and Savior after reading Isaiah 53.

Persecuted and beaten by friends and forsaken by his family, God led the young Gartenhaus to become an ambassador to his own people, establishing the IBJM ministry.

Built on the biblical command and priority for Jewish evangelism found in Scripture, the vision of Dr. Gartenhaus was two-fold. First, assisting and equipping existing local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission, by reaching both Jews and Gentiles with the gospel. Secondly, his heartbeat was to see local churches established in and near to Jewish communities.

Today, IBJM world headquarters are located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The ministry has grown over the years with workers now in many U.S. cities and in 18 countries across the globe.

Short-Term Missions Trips

IBJM takes several short-term missions trips each year to locations around the world. Join us on these life-changing journeys; you may discover God’s calling on your life.

Experience the rich history and culture of cities such as Paris, France; Kharkov, Ukraine; Boston, Massachusetts; New York City; and other large cities where significant Jewish populations exist. Mission highlights include Bible and tract distribution, one-on-one evangelism opportunities on streets and in Jewish neighborhoods, teaching/preaching in local churches, and sightseeing popular venues.

Israel Trips

Since 1971, IBJM has sponsored trips to the Holy Land. Tour costs are competitive and include airfare, fine hotel accommodations, delicious Israeli meals, modern air-conditioned motor coaches and the daily services of a competent, Israeli driver and an English-speaking, Israeli guide.

IBJM offers three very different ways to visit Israel:

Annual Israel Tour (including Petra)

An organized 10-day tour is available to all each year. An extensive tour of the Biblical sites is included as well as an opportunity to visit one of our church plants in Israel and to serve at the humanitarian aid ministry of Project Nehemiah.

Student Heritage Tour

A two-week trip to Israel is available to students which includes Biblical sites, some ministry opportunities, and an opportunity to hike and camp in the great outdoors in the Holy Land.

Student Internships in Israel

One to three-month internships are available in the Holy Land for Bible College students with our church planting workers and with Project Nehemiah.  Complete and submit the online application.  Attending the Four Day Focus on Jewish Missions is a prerequisite for any internship.
