Each day, we see more headlines about assaults on our Christian values. Rising to challenge this trend is the National Center for Life and Liberty (NCLL), which fights to protect our religious freedom. We are facing an attack on religious liberty by dark forces as never before in our nation’s history.
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” – Ephesians 6:12
As Christians, we must act to preserve our liberties and prevent these attempts to suppress the practice of our biblical faith. Our Founding Fathers struggled to protect life and liberty for all Americans, not only in their time but for future generations. Ensuring the preservation of these rights is the only way those who come after us can freely practice their God-given right to worship and live their faith.
According to NCLL, “Strong forces are using the weight of government and social institutions in an attempt to silence, shame, and intimidate people of faith under the threat of lawsuits, lost livelihoods, and appropriating a host of other rights and liberties. Life, our most fundamental right, continues to be assaulted under the false flag of ‘choice’ along every stage of existence. Each generation is targeted – through education, court maneuvers, regulations, and every other coercive means available to our opponents.”
NCLL helps those caught up in today’s headlines, defending foundational rights in the face of ongoing threats. The organization is a voice and shield upholding our freedoms in courtrooms, legislatures, and administrative bodies.
“And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” – Matthew 25:40
Defending Liberties
As a nonprofit legal ministry, NCLL serves to protect and defend Bible-based values upon which our nation was founded: church liberties, parental liberties, individual liberties, and issues of life. Through training, protocols, and documentation, the organization helps prepare churches, ministries, schools, and families to defend their inalienable rights.
Church Liberties
Churches performing their mission will likely face risks at some point in their ministry. The Bible is clear that all of God’s children will endure trials and tribulations. If it were not for churches sharing the Gospel, NCLL would not exist. They are there to stand by a church’s ministry and live up to their standard to “promote the goal of maximum ministry with minimum liability.”
Churches can have NCLL review, put core legal documents, procedures, and training into place, and receive legal counsel and support as needed. NCLL also litigates cases for the advancement of church liberties nationwide.
Parental Liberties
God established the family as being foundational for a strong social structure. Strong families form strong churches that are better positioned to spread the Gospel.
NCLL empowers parents to fearlessly use their constitutional rights so that their children can be taught and guided as led by the Lord. Parents who homeschool their children can gain a better understanding of the law and homeschool responsibly. Parents with children in public or private schools have a right and responsibility to monitor what their children are exposed to and can make decisions on the content, curriculum, and activities on behalf of their children. Even minors in the classroom are entitled to religious liberties.
Individual Liberties
Individual liberties are also under attack. No government may infringe on your liberties without due process. The Constitution and the Bill of Rights protect the freedoms of all Americans. Our Founding Fathers believed the freedom to associate and to petition the government, freedom of the press, freedom of religion, and speech were vital for a new nation to thrive and survive.
Our freedoms are protected through the application of checks and balances. But through the years, opportunists at every level have eroded our liberties, burying them in bureaucracy in the name of progress and security. NCLL “fights for your freedom to work, gather, speak, associate, worship, defend yourself and others, to be treated justly by the authorities including the courts, and to enjoy the protections of inalienable rights in your state and person, as granted by our Creator God.”
Issues of Life
Our greatest right is the right to life at every stage. God created us in His image, and every human life glorifies Him. When it comes to the sanctity of life for the unborn, many state and local governments are trying to silence God’s people on this issue. NCLL fights actions taken by the government that would hamper the operation of ministries reaching out to the community that lends a helping hand to hurting people.
The battle rages on not only for the unborn but for the elderly and disabled. A death culture has swept into countries worldwide where it’s easier for people to end their lives or the lives of others they deem unfit to live. The patient should make those decisions, not doctors or our justice system. NCLL can help protect people regarding end-of-life issues such as preparing a living will, a medical power of attorney, and more.
About the National Center for Life and Liberty
David Gibbs III is the founder of NCLL, serving as president and general counsel. He had always wanted to be a legal missionary and coined his mantra, “If it’s wrong, fight it. If it’s right, fight for it.” Over 25 years later, more than a dozen legal professionals joined the fight and argued several significant cases that defined religious liberty in America today. Over 3,000 churches receive assistance yearly, with over 200 active cases happening at any given time. “We’re thankful for the opportunity to serve the Church as we assist and protect those proclaiming the Gospel in their communities. And as we continue to expand our ability to help more and more churches, we desire to partner with your ministry in the advancement of your mission.”
