Prayer Promises from God

Prayer Promises from God

Prayer promises from God are provided to all those who have placed their faith and trust in Him. The Bible is packed with promises to help us in every facet of our lives. God’s promises never fail. Through His promises, we are given the power to resist sin and live life more abundantly. Indeed, this great gift is something to be thankful for and be acknowledged daily.

2 Peter 1:4: “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”

Claim God’s Prayer Promises

We are freely given these prayer promises from God. We can lay claim to the promises of God, and they are ours for the asking. But many of us miss out, and some hardly access the richness of His Glory. How do we tap into this vast spiritual power source? The answer is more straightforward than we think.

Many times, Christians simply don’t ask for it. We ought to ask through prayer. When we pray earnestly to God for one of His promises, include the words “you said.” Yes, you can hold God to His promise. Using the words “you said” does not mean that God forgot His promise, but rather, it serves as a reminder for us so we can pray more confidently. Keep in mind that God answers according to His timetable, not yours. But He will hear your prayer.

Here are some prayer promises God provides to us if we humbly ask for them:

Never Alone

God is always with you because He loves you and always cares about you. There is no trial or danger for a believer to face alone. The Lord will carry you through to victory. Trust in His promise and pray to bring peace to your anxious heart. You can pray for this because God said that He is with you and will not fail or abandon you:

Hebrews 13:6 “So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.”

Romans 8:31: “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”

Deuteronomy 31:6: “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”

Renew Strength

Sometimes, the trials we go through seem unending or impossible to overcome. The scriptures are filled with examples of people asking God for help through their troubling circumstances. You can pray to God to uplift you and give you strength to endure because He said He would:

Isaiah 40:28: “Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.”

Isaiah 40:29: “He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.”

Isaiah 40:30: “Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:”

Isaiah 40:31: “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Provide Wisdom

Everyone has had to make a difficult decision sometime in their life. If you haven’t yet, you will. These decisions can be life-altering or concerns life and death. Facing these matters, we can feel woefully inadequate to make such decisions. Our Father in Heaven can help us. Ask God to give you wisdom and discernment not only for serious matters but for all matters in daily living, whether large or small. God specifically tells us to ask Him for wisdom:

James 1:5: “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”

Proverbs 2:3: “Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;”

Proverbs 2:6: “For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.”

Proverbs 2:7: “He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.”

Supplying Needs

Because of our faith in Jesus Christ, we are assured that our needs will be met. Not to be confused with wants, God sustains us every day and helps to supply our needs so that we can continue to serve Him. Pray for specific needs, no matter how great or small, and see how God works to fill them. Ask God not to live in anxiety over earthly needs but to trust Him in His Word that He will provide what is needed in the right amount at the right time.

Philippians 4:19: “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

2 Corinthians 9:8: “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:”

Matthew 6:25: “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?”

Matthew 6:26: “Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?”

Power of Prayer Promises

Do not underestimate the power of prayer when asking for God’s prayer promises. Prayer is the quickest and only way to communicate with God and can be done anywhere, anytime. Your prayer does not need to be lengthy, but being specific will yield more apparent results. Include “you said,” referring to God’s promise in your prayer for more effective results. With your prayers, give thanks that God has made prayer promises available to you.

Philippians 4:6: “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

Philippians 4:7: “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
