Courage Comes from Faith is a sermon teaching us to overcome fear by trusting in God.

What are you afraid of? A lot of people are afraid today and are fearful of things that are happening around us. The news today will make you afraid. But God has not given us the spirit of fear. It is God’s will to heal generally.

Why shouldn’t we be afraid when bad things happen? Death came by sin and we live in a sin-cursed world. But faith give us courage. We should trust in God and believe in Him. Faith is the opposite of fear. Put our faith in Christ Jesus. We are to pray day and night for family and strangers. If we want each other to do well, pray for them. Pray without ceasing.

You have a faith that is not fake. God delights in doing things we can’t do. When you receive God, you receive the Trinity – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The fullness of the Spirit lives in you. The Holy Spirit filled us with the power to do His work. Be of good courage, the Lord is with you. We should walk in God’s love and strength, and have trust in God.

Faith and fear are opposites. Let faith cast out your fear. Do things that are reasonable. Take safety precautions when you need to take them. But most of all you need to trust God. God has not given us the spirit of fear. Trust God. God gave us the power, love, and a sound mind that comes from our faith. Everyone has troubles, but you can trust Him for strength, power, and the endurance you need.

¹ Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,

² To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

³ I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;

⁴ Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy;

⁵ When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

⁶ Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

⁷ For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Mark 11:22:

²² And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

I John 4:18:

¹⁸ There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
