God Meant It for Good is a sermon teaching us that God is in charge. We should have a conviction in our hearts to not commit sin. God is holy, and therefore we should not sin. When we are tested, we should trust God and do right.
When sin entered the world it corrupted us. But it is not what comes into a man, but what comes out of his heart. We have a sinful nature in our heart and we begin to think and plot. We all have this nature. Men may plot to do evil, but God has His own plan.
The path can be difficult and you may feel all alone. It isn’t easy. But know that God is there. You will be faced with challenges and there will be people against you. God will see you through. Our problem is we begin to doubt Him. We need to remember, God is in it with you. We need to take the time to read His Word. Trust and have faith. Joy comes in the morning because God meant it for good.
God Meant It for Good sermon starts with verses from Genesis 50:19-20:
19 And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God?
20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
Also verses from Genesis 41:39-42:
39 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art:
40 Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.
41 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.
42 And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph’s hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck;
Genesis 39:7-9:
7 And it came to pass after these things, that his master’s wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me.
8 But he refused, and said unto his master’s wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand;
9 There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?
Genesis 41:15-16:
15 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it: and I have heard say of thee, that thou canst understand a dream to interpret it.
16 And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace.
I John 2:15-16:
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
Proverbs 23:7:
7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.
Jeremiah 17:9:
9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Romans 8:28:
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
