God the Father is a sermon focusing on our relationship with God. Can we come to God and call Him our Father? Get a better understanding of who we are, who God is, and how we can relate to each other.
But where did God come from? Scripture teaches us that God has always been here and always will be. We live in time which has a beginning and an ending. But God lives in eternity where there is no beginning and no end.
God the Father sermon starts with a verse from Malachi 2:10:
10 Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?
also verses from Revelation 1:8:
8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
We learn that the Bible assumes the fact of God, this is the case throughout scripture in both Old and New Testaments. In the Old Testament, this is evident in the very first verse of the first book of Genesis. The Bible assumes that God already exists.
Genesis 1:1:
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
John 14:6:
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
The last book of the Old Testament, Malachi, also assumes that God already exists. This is true of all the books of the Bible.
Malachi 3:6:
6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
