Kiss the Son is a sermon teaching us that there is so much evil in the world because mankind refuses to follow God.
We live in an unprecedented time. We can look back on history and see when plagues and pandemics happened. The bible says worse times are to come during the time of Jacob’s Trouble, or what we call the Tribulation. Count this pandemic as a wakeup call. We need to recognize our time on Earth is temporary. It only takes something small to make a huge change in our life.
We live as though we are gods of the universe but we are not. We used to understand that the universe was designed and we are part of that design made by the designer, God. People understood God as the Creator who sets rules and standards in our life — the ten commandments, for example. Simple standards to live by, but they were removed from courthouses and schools. Mankind says, “Nobody tells me what to do” and “I am the one in charge.”
The first and second lies ever told:
The first lie: If we choose to disobey God we will not die.
The second lie: Don’t worry about God’s warning, we will be like God. If we go on our standards, we too will be gods.
God wants us to turn back to Him. God wants us to live and live forever. We should place ourselves in God’s will.
What god do we choose? Religions of the world say discover the truth or your own truth. Jesus said he is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Our world wants our own way — rebellion against God. But redemption comes through Jesus. People are not saved through the law. They are saved through faith by the grace of God, both in the Old and New Testaments.
This world needs God’s love and redemption instead of the world’s rejection of Him. The world is set against God in rebellion. The world knows of God but rebels thinking God is no longer needed. God is not dead and we have not evolved to no longer need God. Scripture says the kings of this Earth are ready to battle against God and His anointed. They take counsel together with religious rulers.
The people of the Old Testament knew there would be a Messiah who will come. The attitude today is to reject God’s commandments and “do as I please.” There is so much evil in the world because mankind refuses to follow God. God laughs at man’s rebellion. Man thinks he will be successful at it but it is foolishness to God. God will come.
God is not mean but righteous and holy. God sends a Savior to mankind, His Son, His begotten Son. Those who believe in His Son become the children of God. God gave His only begotten Son to save mankind. When we become believers, we become the adopted children of God.
God has, is, and will destroy evil according to His timetable — His judgment. We need to be wise and educated. Those in charge of the people of Earth need to serve God in fear and rejoice. Leaders should fear the one who can destroy both body and soul. We should stop going our own way and follow the Messiah, the Christ.
To kiss the Son is a symbol of love. Turn to and love the Son. Blessed are all they that believe in Him. People these days have many needs, it’s a time to come to the Father. Anyone who comes to Him will have life. The world needs to turn to Jesus. We need revival in our hearts and kiss the Son, putting our faith and trust in Him. Need a revival in your heart? Kiss the Son.
Kiss the Son sermon starts with verses from Psalms 2:1-12:
1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.
10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
Also verses from Psalms 1:1-6:
1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
Ezekiel 33:11:
11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
II Peter 3:9:
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
John 3:16:
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 14:6:
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Proverbs 14:12:
12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
Revelation 19:1:
1 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:
John 3:13-18, 5-36:
13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.
14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.
15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
18 I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me.
35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
36 Simon Peter said unto him, Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered him, Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now; but thou shalt follow me afterwards.
Psalms 14:1:
1 (To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.) The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
Revelation 22:17:
17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
