The Beauty of Christmas

The Beauty of Christmas

The Beauty of Christmas is a sermon teaching us that the coming of Jesus Christ is told in a beautiful story. The angels appeared and the glory of the Lord surrounded them. In the Old Testament, the glory of the Lord filled the temple. The glory of the Lord is mentioned throughout scripture and is so overwhelming, that people who saw it were afraid at the sight. But the angels that appeared at the time of Jesus’s birth told the shepherds to “fear not” and that they brought good news, the gospel of great joy, the gospel for all people.

The beauty of the messages that the angels brought is to remember the beauty of Christmas in your heart, in the message, and in sharing the message. The message of Christ is the world’s only hope. Find peace of heart and peace of mind through the beauty of Christmas. Sharing the gospel and seeing people saved from their sins is the true beauty of Christmas.

The Beauty of Christmas sermon starts with verses from Luke 2:8-20:

8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

12 And thisĀ shall beĀ a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

17 And when they had seenĀ it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.

18 And all they that heardĀ itĀ wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

19 But Mary kept all these things, and ponderedĀ themĀ in her heart.

20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

Exodus 34:29-35:

29 And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him.

30 And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him.

31 And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them.

32 And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in mount Sinai.

33 AndĀ tillĀ Moses had done speaking with them, he put a vail on his face.

34 But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he took the vail off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of IsraelĀ thatĀ which he was commanded.

35 And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him.

I Kings 8:9-10:

9 There wasĀ nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horeb, when the LORD madeĀ a covenantĀ with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

10 And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holyĀ place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD,

Daniel 10:5-6:

5 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loinsĀ wereĀ girded with fine gold of Uphaz:

6 His body alsoĀ wasĀ like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.

Matthew 4:1-4:

1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the firstĀ dayĀ of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:

4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as deadĀ men.

Revelation 1:3-15:

3 BlessedĀ isĀ he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the timeĀ isĀ at hand.

4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: GraceĀ beĀ unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;

5 And from Jesus Christ,Ā who isĀ the faithful witness,Ā andĀ the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to himĀ beĀ glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and theyĀ alsoĀ which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending,Ā saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

9 I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,

11 Saying,Ā I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last:Ā and,Ā What thou seest, write in a book, and sendĀ itĀ unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

12 And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;

13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticksĀ oneĀ like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.

14 His head andĀ hisĀ hairsĀ wereĀ white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyesĀ wereĀ as a flame of fire;

15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

Ephesians 2:14-16:

14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partitionĀ between us;

15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity,Ā evenĀ the law of commandmentsĀ containedĀ in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man,Ā soĀ making peace;
