The Way of a Fool is a sermon about seeking God’s counsel to make right choices rather than rely on what we think is right. Do you seek God’s counsel?
Who is Right?
Everyone’s philosophy, or world view, is governed by their theology. The way we view God affects the how we view everything and how we view other people and ourselves. Why is that? Because there is a God and He is the Creator. God made us in His own image and He made us to have a relationship with Him.
A Better Way
Everyone likes to think they are right, their way is right, and their point of view is right. The fool chooses his own way to go. It is a way that seems right but can lead to his destruction. Is there a better way to go? Yes. God is the source of all wisdom. If you seek the counsel of God, you will be choosing the right way.
Seeking Wisdom
How can you get God’s counsel? Pray about it, and read God’s Word. The book of Proverbs is a great starting point. It is a collection of wise sayings written by Solomon under the inspiration of God. You will find wisdom there. Reading the bible just five minutes a day will change your life. If you want the counsel of God, get into His Word and pray.
The Way of a Fool sermon starts with verses from Proverbs 12:15:
15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.
Proverbs 16:25:
25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
Psalms 14:1-7:
1 (To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.) The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
2 The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.
3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.
5 There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.
6 Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is his refuge.
7 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the LORD bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.
