Where Are You Going?

Where Are You Going?

Where Are You Going? is a sermon prompting us to examine the direction in life we are taking. Every human being has a purpose in life. There is a reason you are here. There is a purpose for your life, you are not an accident. God has a purpose for your life. Everyone has difficulty but you are here on purpose in this world. The greatest thing we can desire is finding God’s purpose for our life. There are those who only want to survive without direction but there is more to life than survival. Jesus came to this world to live out his plan for this world — to be the Savior. Be happy to do God’s will for your life. We need to press on and do the things we can do.

The Lord will come again to judge. Jesus came to save those who are lost. During Jesus’s time, people lived under oppression but Jesus came with one purpose, to save the lost. He calls out to follow Him to the cross to save souls. He wants us to live like Him and take His message to a world that is dying. Death leads to another realm of existence — heaven or hell. God did not make hell for people, He made it for the devil and his angels. God gave us bibles, churches, and preachers but people climb over all that to go their own way and end up in hell. We should follow Jesus and end up in heaven.

Are you following Jesus or are you following your own way? We don’t know the future but we can follow Jesus one step at a time by sharing the Gospel and serving the Lord. Consider others and trust God for what’s next. Decide to follow and don’t turn back. At the end of life, we will see Jesus and those we’ve influenced on Earth. Which direction are you influencing others to go?

Where Are You Going? sermon starts with verses from Luke 9:51-62:

51 And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,

52 And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him.

53 And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.

54 And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?

55 But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.

56 For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.

57 And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.

58 And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

59 And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.

60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.

61 And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.

62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
