As Christians, we have assurances from God to get through troubled times.<\/p>\r\n<blockquote>\r\n<p>Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.\u201d \u2013 Isaiah 41:10<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p>Having to stay at home can make you feel isolated. You can still communicate via phone, texting, or online video chat. You can even attend West Park Baptist Church services through video streaming on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/westpark.baptistchurch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook<\/a> and make <a href=\"https:\/\/westpark.give2.church\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">donations online<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n<p>Still, it\u2019s an excellent opportunity to spend more time with God. Just because you\u2019re stuck at home doesn\u2019t mean your light is hidden under a bushel. Now is the time to shine your light and show compassion. You can grow in your faith and help in your community.<\/p>\r\n<h3>Ideas for Keeping Faith in Troubled Times<\/h3>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Read the bible and find out what God wants to reveal to you. You can download a bible app on your phone and read bible plans, listen to bible readings, and enjoy daily verses.<\/li>\r\n<li>Prayer is essential during these trying times. Pray for loved ones, the global church, our nation\u2019s leaders, medical personnel and first responders who put their lives at risk to save others, the sick, and families who have lost loved ones to this dreaded disease.<\/li>\r\n<li>Do not be tempted to hoard supplies. Only get what you need so that others can get what they need. If you have too many supplies, share them with neighbors who might need them.<\/li>\r\n<li>Call up the elderly from the church or those who live alone and have a friendly chat. It helps to relieve any sadness or anxiety they may be having.<\/li>\r\n<li>If you know a medical worker or first responder, be sure to thank them for what they do.<\/li>\r\n<li>If you are well and take safety precautions, pick up groceries for the elderly in your community.<\/li>\r\n<li>Check with your local government, neighborhood association, nonprofits, and see if you can help in some way.<\/li>\r\n<li>Offer to pray for people and invite them to online church services. Many turn to God during hard times, and you could be the one to lead them to Christ.<\/li>\r\n<li>Help support small local businesses in your community. They are struggling to survive, and buying a gift card or placing an order for delivery or pickup will be encouraging for them.<\/li>\r\n<li>Think of the homeless and needy and help supply their need. Soup kitchens and food banks will likely be overburdened and will need to be well-stocked to serve the poor.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3>Share Christlike Compassion<\/h3>\r\n<p>During these trying times, Christians can rely on God\u2019s promises and rest on the hope that our faith gives.
